Tehreek-e-Insaaf declared entitled to reserved seats
Supreme Court ordered to give reserved seats for women and minorities to PTI.ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has declared the decision of the Election Commission and Peshawar High Court to be null and void while giving a reserved decision on the petition related to the reserved seats of the Sunni Ittehad Council.
A 13-member Larges Bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa had reserved the verdict in the case related to the reserved seats of the Sunni Unity Council.
Apart from this, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Jamal Mandukhel, Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Irfan Saadat, Justice Naeem Afghan and Justice Aminuddin were also part of the bench.
Two sessions of the full court were also held before the verdict regarding the specific seats of the Sunni Unity Council was delivered.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan said that the decision on the request of the Sunni Unity Council is a majority decision of 8 which was written by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah.
ISLAMABAD: Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gauhar termed the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the specific seats of the Sunni Ittehad Council as historic.
Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad, Barrister Gauhar said that today is a happy day for millions of people and democratic forces, the decision of the Supreme Court will be remembered in history.
He said that 11 judges of the Supreme Court gave a decision in favor of PTI, the way to amend the constitution has been blocked, we want to proceed according to the constitution and the law, which has the right. Must meet.
